Meet Demi!

Meet Demi, 1 year 2 months Female/Spayed Terrier, Pit Bull/Mix. All dog adoption fees are just $70 this month in celebration of Adopt-a-Dog Month.

Here's what Demi's foster parents have to say about her: Demi is one of the most happy-go-lucky pups we have ever met! Every time she sees us, her whole body wiggles with joy, and she gets "helicopter tail", meaning her tail wags in full circles. You cannot help but smile when you get a greeting from Demi.

She is about 99.9% house-trained, and definitely knows that outside is where to do her business. She is super smart and food-motivated, and already knows her name and "sit". Because she is so attentive to what the people around her are doing, we think she will bond really quickly with her forever family and will excel at obedience training.

As far as other dogs, Demi has done wonderfully with all sorts of dogs at the shelter's canine play groups. Demi has a pretty rough and tumble play-style, and she tears it up in our backyard with her foster brother who is about the same age and size as she is. Given how social Demi is, we think she'd love to have a canine sibling. Demi would do best in a home with a playful, non-dominant male dog who is about the same size as her.

Help Our Cause

Animal Services intakes over 6,000 dogs and cats annually. Many are reunited with their owners, adopted into new homes, or transferred to partnering rescue organizations. Unfortunately, approximately 60% are euthanized.

The event helps raise funds in support of the adoption and spay/neuter programs at the Animal Services Center.

Help us raise funds to purchase supplies for the Spay/Neuter program, Adoption Program, microchip idenitification, Enrichment Program, and Foster Program. Your charitable gift is tax deductible and will help save lives and provide comfort to so many animals in need. Please make a donation today.
