The Fast & The Furriest™
10K Race & 1-Mile Dog Walk
On June 27, 2009 we held our third annual race and dog walk fundraiser to benefit the Animal Services Center. The weather was gorgeous, there were over 200 runners and nearly as many dog walkers. Jennifer Marie wowed us with her soulful renditions of rock classics as the runners completed the scenic run and awaited the awards ceremony. Sponsors set up booths in Brown Square Park include kiddie pools for dogs compliments of the Monroe Veterinary Associates and bobbing for hot dogs at the Camp Bow Wow and Invisible Fence area.
The event brought in over $22,000 in corporate sponsorship, run and walk registrations, pledges, and donations.

Open House at Rochester Animal Services

What: Celebrate National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. Tour the shelter, visit the animals, bring your pet in for a microchip identification, and find out how to get involved as a volunteer. The shelter offers a $20 discount on all cat and dog adoptions throughout this week.

Over 200 runners and 150 dog walkers came out, despite the rain, for the hugely successful The Fast & The Furriest 10K Road Race & 1 Mile Dog Walk, which raised $30,000 for Rochester Animal Services. We couldn't have done it without the hardwork and dedication of all our volunteers and sponsors. Congratulations to our runners, walkers, and everyone (and every dog) involved...
