Mark your calendar for Saturday June 8, 2013 for our 7th annual event. Join us for the 10K, 5K, dog walk, and pet festival of the year that will again feature live music, food, sponsor giveaways, vendors, pet contests, and a variety of activities for you and your pets. Help us celebrate our love of animals and our city!
How Can I Get Involved?
Walk our 1-mile dog walk. Run our popular 5k or 10k courses, attend the festival and of course, FUNDRAISE and win fabulous prizes!
WALK + Fundraise: Walk registration fee is $30.00. The good news is, this year you can register online free of charge and the first $30.00 that you raise will count towards your registration fee AND entitles you to our first fundraising prize - a Fast & Furriest t-shirt. Not interested in raising funds? Simply remit the registration form to VSAS or bring your $30.00 with you on event day. *Please note all walk registrants MUST register through our Crowdrise site or remit a paper registration in order to participate in the event. RUN + Fundraise: Run registration fees are 10K ($20-pre-event/$25-event day) or 5K ($15-pre-event/$20-event day). We encourage all runners to also fundraise for the animals. Step 1: Register for the run online or remit your registration form to VSAS, THEN proceed to Step 2: Creating your own fundraising page or joining an existing team. Fundraise Only: Can't make it to this year's event but want to help the animals? Become an online fundraiser and be eligible to receive all of our great pledge level prizes. Need help setting up your fundraising page? Check out our guide to Setting up your Fundraiser With Crowdrise page.
Pledge Forms: The most successful fundraisers are those individuals who combine their online fundraising efforts with in-person donations. Download a pledge form and bring your donations with you on event day.

Form a Team to Help Raise Funds
There were 35 teams involved with the 2012 event. Forming a team is a great way for friends, colleagues, students and family to unite for a cause and demonstrate their support of Rochester Animal Services. A team can be composed of walkers, runners, non-participant fundraisers and any combination thereof.
This year, we anticipate an even larger pool of teams helping to elevate our cause. Please help us help the animals by forming a team today or consider joining the Rochester Animal Services Team
- Designate one person as team captain
- Create your team, if you are a runner you must first register as a runner
- Recruit team members
- Direct each member to register and select your team
- Start gathering pledges online or by downloading a pledge form
- Make team t-shirts (optional)
- Plan your strategy for leading the pack
- Raise funds throughout the year to increase your impact
- Consider bake sales, garage sales, bottle drives, third-party fundraisers, etc. to boost your team earnings
- Have FUN!

Help Our Cause - About Rochester Animal Services and Verona Street Animal Society
Rochester Animal Services (RAS) is a municipal animal care and control agency located in the High Falls District of Rochester. With an annual intake of 6,000 animals, RAS seeks to improve the quality of life and safety for city residents and their animals and works to promote responsible pet ownership and the reduction of animal overpopulation through education, pet licensing, adoption, reuniting lost pets with their owners and providing a low-cost spay neuter clinic for city residents. Verona Street Animal Society VSAS) is the private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to raise money to support the efforts of RAS that extend beyond the City's operating budget. As the largest fundraising event of the year, our goal for 2013 is to raise $60,000. Achieving this goal is vital to not only sustaining but expanding our pet adoption program and spay-neuter efforts and to meet the increased needs of our community.
